# Rualba Group > A holding company based in Hamburg, Germany. It owns and develops its own ventures. Their shared core is a method that leads people to the offer that fits them. Ventures are built from the customer inward: lean processes, steady learning, lasting adjustment. The work happens from anywhere, with almost no meetings in person. The holding company supplies the frame, the brand and the money. Whatever finds no customers is closed down. The first venture is in development, a prototype is running. Funding comes from our own resources, without outside capital. ## The name Rualba is more than a surname. Each letter stands for one step of the work, and each step carries its own colour on the website: - R Reflect: looking back before anything is planned. - U Unlearn: letting go of habit, which otherwise bends every analysis. - A Analyse: figures, structures, incentives. Cool and without an agenda. - L Launch: acting before the plan is perfect. - B Back it up: effect measured, never asserted. - A Adjust: correct, then round again. After Adjust comes Reflect again. The loop closes, which is why a venture does not end at handover. On the origin of the word: rua is Portuguese for street, from Latin ruga (furrow, path); alba means dawn in the Romance languages, from Latin albus (white). ## The evidence behind it Fit is one of the best studied relationships in organizational and consumer research. Four perspectives: 1. Organization theory. Benjamin Schneider described how organizations arise through three filters: attraction, selection and attrition. In the review by Kristof-Brown, Schneider and Su (2023, Personnel Psychology 76(2), 375-412) the mechanism still holds. 2. Work psychology. The same review: fit correlates with job satisfaction between rho .44 and .61, with commitment between .51 and .59, with overall performance only at rho .07, and with actual turnover at -.14. rho is a correlation coefficient from 0 to 1, not a percentage. 3. The customer. George Akerlof (1970) described what happens when quality cannot be judged before purchase. Chernev, Böckenholt and Goodman (2015, Journal of Consumer Psychology 25(2), 333-358) analysed 99 observations with 7,202 participants: too much choice paralyses only once four conditions are met, the strongest being uncertainty about one’s own preference. Counter-evidence: Scheibehenne et al. (2010) found an effect near zero across 63 data points. 4. The provider. Michael Spence (1973) showed when a signal is credible: when it costs more for those it does not apply to. Applied here, a provider has to turn away poor matches visibly, even at the cost of revenue. The objection, which the site states itself: the high figures mostly measure perceived fit; the relationship collapses for behaviour; and the resulting homogeneity narrows the range, with an unresolved effect on innovation. ## When a customer fits Fitting: a decision is due and a basis for it is missing; customers can no longer order the choice themselves; a method is needed that explains its recommendation and can be verified from outside; the work is to be done in writing and from anywhere; contradiction is welcome. Not fitting: the result is already fixed and only needs backing up; weekly presence on site is expected; speed comes before reasoning; price alone decides; an agency is wanted that executes instructions. ## How a venture comes about 1. Describe the situation, twenty minutes is enough. 2. An answer within a week, with reasons, on whether it fits. 3. A written proposal with scope, price and date. None of these steps costs anything before the matter is clear. ## Pages - https://rualba.group/en/ : home page with the analysis, ventures, way of working, fit and contact - https://rualba.group/en/impressum.html : provider details under section 5 of the German Digital Services Act - https://rualba.group/en/datenschutz.html : privacy statement
